St. Catherine Eastern Orthodox Church

Houses are sold to approved families through a non-profit, no-interest loan, which the family repays with affordable monthly payments. Along with completing their sweat equity hours, the family makes a down payment of $400. Mortgage payments, including taxes and insurance are usually between $450 and $550 per month.

Who Qualifies?

1. The applicant cannot be able to obtain a home mortgage through regular means.
2. Applicants must be in need of affordable or decent housing.
3. Applicants must meet Habitat income guidelines and be able to repay a no-interest mortgage.
4. Applicants must be willing to partner with Habitat, agreeing to complete the required 500 hours of sweat equity.
5. Applicants must be a U.S. Citizen and a resident of Washington County for 1 year.
6. Applicants must understand that a review will be conducted by the Family Services Committee to determine need, ability to repay the mortgage loan, and willingness to partner with Habitat for Humanity.
